The exact location: Beacon Hill Park - between Mexico Beach and Gulf County: click here for a locator. Not only do two beautiful counties meet here but also two time zones meet here. All times in Beach Blast Triathlon & Duathlon are CENTRAL!

ATTENTION - the date for Beach Blast II has been changed to September 27. Please accept our apologies for this mix up. We hope you can join us then!

To all athletes who missed Beach Blast in September 2007: If you didn't use a discount for April 2008 race, you can use one for September event. There are two discounts available; one takes $25.00 off the race fees and expires July 31, 2008. The second coupon starts August 1, is valid until the registration closes, and takes $20.00 off the race fees. Please email to Director@BeachBlastTriathlon.com for the discount passwords (since passwords are only available to athletes who missed the race in September 2007, they cannot be published). Race packets were filled with good stuff - key chains, sunscreen samples, endurance drinks samples, and more! Food was great - grilled, pickled, and boiled shrimp, salads, grilled hot dogs, and pizza (donated by El Governor Hotel - Thank you!).

General information about the race:

BEACH BLAST Race consists of 4 races; pick your race and distance:

Sprint Triathlon 0.45 mile swim - 15 mile bike - 3.1 mile run              

Sprint Duathlon  1.2 mile run    - 15 mile bike - 3.1 mile run

Olympic Triathlon 0.9 mile swim - 25 mile bike - 6.2 mile run

Olympic Duathlon 3.1 mile run - 25 mile bike - 6.2 mile run

All 4 races take place at the same time, from the same spot. Srint distance races start at 7:00am CT and Olympic races take off at 7:30 am CT. Swimmers and runners (duathletes after the first run on the beach) will follow the same course to T1, on the bike, T2, and run. Participants of Sprint distance races will turn around on the bike and run before Olympic participants will. Please watch for signs, flags, and volunteers to lead you. Having 4 races at once makes Beach Blast a unique event and great destination for a weekend on the beach!

Packet pick up Friday available on Friday 5-8pm CT at El Governor Hotel (click here for more info) and Saturday morning at the race site. 

Transition area opens at 5:30am CT. Packet pick up and body marking start at 5:30am CT. Only body-marked athletes will be allowed to enter the transition area.

Race start: Olympic race starts at 7:00am CT. Sprint race starts at 7:30am CT. Please note: all times are CENTRAL.

Awards ceremony starts as soon as the last athlete crosses the finish line. Enjoy grilled shrimp, hot dogs, pizza, beer, and door prizes while you wait!

Where to stay: El Governor Motel in Mexico Beach offers 10% discount to Beach Blast athletes. Please book your stay as early as possible! This beautiful place with the best sunset on Gulf Coast fills up fast!

We sponsored a sister-event in September 2007; Beach Blast Tri in Iraq. We received some photos and our understanding is that the guys had a blast! Congratulations!

We hope your presence in Iraq won't be needed much longer. But if you’re still there in April, you’re welcome aboard again!
